Freckles

by Kevin Ramsden

Counting the freckles trailing across her pretty nose. Each one a little imperfectly shaped piece of her. Done a hundred times before. No brushing my hand away now. A prisoner of this dreamless sleep. I knows it’s time to call someone. Before the first salty tear hits my cheek

Bio-Fragment: Kevin Ramsden resides in Kyoto, Japan, and is a professor of Global Studies at a university in the city. When he lays down the pen, his interests include hunting down drinkable New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, listening to reggae music, pedaling slowly around the town on his electrically assisted bicycle and complaining about the performances of West Ham United football club.
